They will nickel and dime you to death with dues and fees (including required vendors).
Corporate retail solutions.
The lack of flexibility, when it comes to what is happening inside my store. Everystore is not the same. You want us to be print stores, but you dictate where every piece of machinery is placed. The things they pick you apart for are ridiculous—take, for example, the wrong filing cabinet in an office that no customers can see.
NoNeutralNeutralIn the 21 years I've been an owner and the changes and direction the franchisor is taking it, DO NOT invest in this franchise you will loose money!
The brand recognition.
Required programs that loose the business money, having to use vendor that corporate is getting kickbacks from and the items are over priced (using an unapproved vendor is grounds for them pulling your franchise), requiring self serve kiosk (at the cost of over $10,000)for Amazon and telling the owners we are accountable if the customer messes up or steals the item when stores across the country are removing self service check outs because they cannot stop the theft, now requiring us to open on Sundays (to keep Amazon) even when the store can show it is not profitable and UPS has no support for us because they are closed on Sundays and no packages move, corporate home office still works from home and it is frustrating to have someone respond or get them on the phone and this causes the owners delays that sometimes cost us money, they need to stop working from home and GO BACK to the OFFICE, our tech support is HORRIBLE, UPS giving steep discounts (better then we get) to other shipping platforms that make the stores seem like our prices are marked up when we can not change UPS shipping prices in our computers, requiring us to purchase supplies and equipment that that we will not use but have to have for quarterly inspections or you are marked off for not having because they get kick backs on it,
NoNegativeDisapprovesI do love the potential that the brand has, but it's disappointed when our support system is never a constant.
I love the customers that we get to interact with on a daily basis. I love being able to offer more ideas for them than what they originally thought we would offer. I love my staff too.
I don't like that our FC's change out like lightbulbs. Something must be wrong if they all just jump ship left and right. We've had nothing but wonderful FC's but we can't hold onto them.
NoNegativeNeutralUPS Stores are grossly taken advantage of by UPS. Considering we are their partners, it seems as if it is a one way street with UPS accruing the benefits
Clean business. Little inventory or accounts receivable. Reasonable business hours
UPS does not support the franchisee. They give away shipping to 3rd party businesses at discounts which make our ability to compete virtually impossible. Treat us as their hubs. Have closed many of their facilities and utilize lUPS Stores as indentured servants. Level of service on their deliveries has diminished greatly.
NoNegativeNeutralCosts are becoming increasingly high and profits are lower. Turning our store into dollar transactions over quality transactions.
Hours are optimal
Corporate office has become out of touch with what works and costs.
