This franchisee completely sucks
I like being self employed. The ONLY benefit for this franchise to me was it got me in business quickly. If I knew then what I know today I would have gone independent as this franchise sucks
Corporate leadership is clueless. They hold you to ridiculous non-compete crap because they are greedy. Nobody in corporate knows restoration, they all proclaim a bunch of franchising experience but not a god damn one of them has ever been a restorer. Hell they barely understand basic business principles. Every time they get someone with a restoration background they mysteriously get run off. My understanding/word on the street is that the corporate office barely has any employees. They can't keep anybody good. They never take any serious action on a franchisee that constantly violates his marketing restrictions.
NoNegativeDisapprovesLack of communication and half thought ideas
The online and digital marketing setup and management
The lack of interaction from restoration 1 corporate to the franchisees. The corporate team makes add programs and software so there is less human interaction between the two unless there is a problem. The programs and software subpar in quality and reliability witch lead to more challenges and a lack of faith in the corporate team and the brand.
NoNegativeApprovesHiring a consultant and operating independently is a much better option than purchasing a Restoration 1 franchise territory. Once you understand how little the corporate office does to support the franchisees it is too late.
Many of the owners are good, hardworking people that are willing to share ideas and answer questions.
The brand does very little to help owners in any respect. Failing owners are promised assistance that they don't receive, and the whole machine is designed to sell sales territories and collect royalty payments instead of protecting and developing franchisees. The President of Restoration 1 is unprofessional and lacks leadership skills. There is little brand recognition and there is little to no National Account work in some areas of the Country.

Corporate leaves me alone for the most part, I’m able to have it running without me there and still be profitable
Start up was tough ( 2017-2018 ) not enough support at that time, had to figure most things out on my own or from other franchisees, the 2 week training was very bleak and the Fc’s at the time we’re of little to no help as well
YesNeutralNeutralBeen a disappointing experience. No measurable value received from corporate. Upon reflection, should have gone into the business as an independent.
Other owners willingness to help and provide guidance and direction.
It has been an "every man (owner) for himself experience". No real roadmap for ensured success. Only hear that every market is different and need to try new things for marketing - which results in wasting resources. Thought a franchise would have structured and, most importantly, proven guidelines to follow.
