While the experience has led to personal growth and has driven me to make my locations viable through my own efforts, I cannot confidently recommend the franchise opportunity to others based on my overall experience
The opportunity to positively impact peopleβs lives while building a strong, supportive community is incredibly rewarding
The total investment required to open a Fitstop was significantly higher than what was initially communicated or advised by Head Office. While the franchise fees are considerable, the ongoing support from HQ has not met expectations. Furthermore, several recent decisions appear to be made without adequate franchisee input and lack proven justification, which raises concerns around strategic direction and franchisee alignment.
NoNegativeDisapprovesAvoid at all cost. Once HQ has your money and you open they don't care about you. They are also in serious financial trouble with huge overheads and income dropping with locations closing constantly. Over half of the Fitstop network is not at or below break even.
The ability to help people and make a difference in their lives
The brand has taken a nose dive over the last 18 months with major HQ staff leaving and the focus now being on expansion. The Australian market has been left to struggle with no real support from the head office. Their plan just adds more expense to already struggling businesses with no regard to the financial or mental well-being of their franchises. They rely on keeping owners separated and use fear to force their agenda regardless of the negative impacts on owners and their businesses.
NoNegativeDisapprovesOverall good, but the HQ needs to stick to basics they did well in the beginning with training blocks and let go of challenges.
The branding look, logo and marketing has always been spot on. The overall training progression has been good.
It feels like it is moving away from the original intentions, owner experience and the training is becoming more similar to F45 and very basic and standard in parts, to build it up and sell as many locations as possible for the greater good of the franchisor to sell the whole business eventually, but the franchisee and community lose. It was disjointed when we opened, then they had great people in place to start better planning, ideas and patterns and this has now seeming to go back to the way it was, not for the better.

The programming and branding
The layout costs and returns make this business inequitable and not worthwhile. Head Office donβt seem to make business decisions based on research, thus impacting our locations overall. Have had no physical visits/in-person support from HQ since openings. Large promises of returns and business value prior to opening, not many Fitstops are making a profit.
