YesPositiveApprovesDisappointed.
I like helping home buyers by inspecting the house.
HouseMaster was great when I first joined. Franchisees had a great relationship with leadership and we felt like they cared. Most of the people working at corporate had experience in the industry. Things went downhill after a while. Over the years I watched the company decline. Current leadership has lost the trust/respect of the franchisees. Many/most of the franchisees I communicate with feel the same. The royalties I/we paid saw no real return. Calls/emails for help often go unanswered. I had to get help locally or directly from other franchisees most of the time. No one in current leadership has real world experience in the home inspection industry. They continue to add on fees/services/insurance that they require franchisees to purchase. They also harvest our client's information to sell other services to them. I think this is immoral.
NoNegativeDisapprovesThe home inspection business has it's own challenges. As long as you understand those challenges, HouseMaster is there to help you face them.

I like the support provided on everything from marketing to IT to having a business coach that is always accessible.
The state where I'm located has more stringent laws governing this business than any other. That needs to be accounted for in the model -- knowing some can buy the franchise and open immediately, where in Texas it is an average of at least 6 months before you can begin offering services for payment.
