Introduction to Bach
The aim of this course is to introduce you to the technical and theoretical skill sets required to play classical solo piano pieces at all levels. You should ideally have some musical background but not necessarily on the piano. Your previous background with music theory is crucial to your success. If this is the case, you are already halfway to becoming a pianist. If you are completely new to piano, this course includes suggested theory readings which we strongly encourage you to review. This course is designed under the guidance of accredited, concert-level pianists with distinguished, international backgrounds. It is not meant to be easy, but it is designed to be approachable. Your journey of discovering the power of classical piano begins here. Course Requirements: A tuned piano (if digital, make sure the keys are weighted) Camera External microphone Wired headphones Web browser (ideally through a desk or laptop) An incessant desire to practice
